For years, families across the Imperial Valley have been forced to live alongside one of the most polluted rivers in America that threatens their health and their future. This public health risk is not acceptable. I toured the New River alongside the EPA Region 9 Administrator and the IBWC Director, seeing the pollution firsthand and brought federal, state, and local partners together to take action. I’m pushing for binational accountability, stronger oversight, federal and state investments, a clear action plan, and a real seat at the table for the communities most impacted. I’m fighting for the people who live near the New River to protect their health and clean up the New River and I’m not stopping. We’re taking action immediate and long-term solutions. There is strong momentum and the time is now.
